WILL IT WORK FOR ME?

BACKFOREVER is a resource to teach you the behavioral changes and exercises to get relief from the most common causes of back and neck pain. You should always consult with a physician about your pain prior to undertaking this or any exercise program. There are rare but serious causes of back and neck pain that should be ruled out including cancer, infection, fractures, and others.

THE BACKFOREVER PROGRAM MAY SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCE OR ELIMINATE YOUR BACK OR NECK PAIN IF YOU ANSWER YES TO THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS:

  • + -

Is your back or neck pain associated with certain movements, activities, positions, or tasks?

For example is your pain better OR worse depending on what you are doing? These activites can include but are not limited to standing, sitting, walking, lifting, lying face up, lying face down, lying on your side, sleeping, sex, driving, flying, household chores, Pilates, weight lifting, stretching, massage, acupuncture, chiropractic. If yes, you may benefit from the BACKFOREVER program

  • + -

Does your back or neck pain vary in intensity from day to day or within a day?

If yes, you may benefit from this program.

  • + -

Do you have back pain that happens a few times a week, month or year but otherwise you are relatively pain-free?

If yes, you may benefit from the BackForever Program.

  • + -

Do you have achy, hard to pinpoint, diffuse pain in the buttock, leg, arm, or shoulder that can be very intense at times but seems to vary from time to time?

If yes, you may benefit from the BackForever program but you need to be cleared by a physician first. There are potentially serious conditions that can cause these symptoms in addition to the more common causes which this program can help.

  • + -

Has your physician or primary care provider suggested or recommended exercising and stretching to help alleviate your back and/or neck pain?

If yes, you are a back and neck pain sufferer who may benefit from the BackForever Program.

DO NOT PARTICIPATE IN THE BACKFOREVER PROGRAM WITHOUT BEING CLEARED BY YOUR PRIMARY HEALTH CARE PROVIDER IF:

  • You experience constant, excruciating (on a level of 8/10 or more) back or neck pain that never varies in intensity
  • You experience excruciating pain (on a level of 8/10 or more) in the buttock, leg, arm, hand, or foot that does not vary in intensity

  • You experience numbness or tingling in the buttock, leg, arm, hand, or foot or anywhere else in the body

If you do not experience any of the above conditions, we still recommend that you see your primary health care provider prior to starting this or any exercise program.

  • I am a mother of four and love to exercise and stay active. Surprisingly, a lot of my exercises and activities were contributing to my recurring back problems. Now, following the BACKFOREVER program, I am almost always completely pain free. When I do have the occasional mild flare up, I know how to end it myself, thanks to the knowledge I got from Dr. James’s careful teaching. I am now more active than I was 10 years ago.

When one lives in pain it is difficult to not feel defeated by age. Not one to ever just give up, I began asking those I respect and admire what I should do, and the name that was repeatedly recommended to me was Jeremy James at the Back Institute. Within only eight weeks, the pain dissipated from his muscle release methods, his exercise training, and his homework assignments. I feel very fortunate to have had Jeremy help me to get back on my mountain bike and my skis again, and although I may need a tune up from time to time, I have a new license on life and am back to playing hard and enjoying life to its fullest.

    -Jillian Livingston, Basalt, CO

I have had neck and back issues for years that have prevented me from doing simple movements such as lifting anything overhead. Certain movements would cause excruciating neck pain that would last for days. I dreaded these episodes so much I avoided these movements at all costs. Chiropractors and physical therapists would always provide me with short-term relief once I was in pain, but they never showed me how to stop these things on my own. Within days on Dr. James’s BACKFOREVER program, it helped me regain enough strength in my back and upper body to allow me to lift overhead without these episodes. In addition, my low back feels better than it has in many years. If I follow the program, I feel great.
